| Born in Novosibirsk, Russia and graduated from
Saint-Petersburg University, Department of Probability Theory and
Mathematical Statistics, I kept my passion for artwork extending in time.
I
was about 8 years old when my
parents clearly distinguished my artistic talent sent me to the Art School to let
my talent grow hopefully to the eminent level. However none of their
expectations was to come true. As I graduated from the school after 5
years of vain effort spent for perception of Art my logical part was
obviously dominating my emotional one that caused a very little progress
in my study over those years, yet my artistic being seemed to be
attractive to me no more than any other peculiar profession. So I felt no doubt in
making my further education choice
- science and nothing else it was. That's how I found myself on the
university program at Mathematics and Mechanics Department in
Saint-Petersburg. I
had been kept painting rather accidentally (more in the gloomy colours as
a due reflection of Piter's weather; by analogy to Picasso's Rose-Blue
periods mine could be justly named as Grey one - thanks to the prevailing
Grey colour) until I eventually realised that it was the only one way for
my sufficient self-expression.
Thus my study at the university revealed my remaining
affinity for painting. At the same time my vigorous imagination was about
to burst from complaining about lack of technique for proper reproducing
all its iridescent plays.. Casually, one of my classmates happened to have somewhat
similar (to mine) affinity for painting and the problem of private art
study was solved for us without any delay. |

We both started
attending private painting
classes which were given by the most remarkable and kindest Professor from
Muhinskoe utchilitsche (famous art college named after Muhina), Department
of Painting, - Elena Dmitrievna. That study lasting about 1.5-2 years
brought me to the apparently new sense of colours and sense of composition.
My advancing inquisition with number of artists such as Chagalle, Picasso,
Van Gogh, Munch and many
others caused influence on my works.
From the quite early age I've been feeling special affinity for expressionism, even though the meaning of it was remaining rather ambiguous for me. My experience shed some light on this subject. As surrealism, expressionism i e All my works are done in the style that i would personally
define as an 'Abstract Expressionism' or 'Comprehensive Surrealism'. I
like to paint the things of beauty around me, structuring them in the way
of my inner world's reflection and detailing them until my mind can rest
on it .. My turbulent nature
anxious for new impressions led me to explore Europe by travelling through for somewhat more than 2
years. Now I am residing in
Frankfurt, Germany. I
hope you will enjoy this small sampling of my work, as much as I enjoy
sharing it with you. Master BO.
